We close the 19th Bangalow Music Festival 2022 with a dreamy program of vivid imagery, vibrant colours and nostalgic memories. Emma McGrath and Simon Tedeschi treat us to Debussy’s final work, his poignant Violin Sonata that mixes darkness and light with beauty and sensuality. Southern Cross Soloists take to the stage once again to perform Lachlan Skipworth’s bright and lively Oboe Quartet, written in memory of Anne and Alan Blanckensee and Debussy’s atmospheric and shimmering soundscape of the sea, La Mer. To close the festival, baroque meets tango and jazz, with a delicious fugue, sumptuous melody and final tango in Fuga y Misterio and Libertango by Piazzolla.
